Information You Submit
Search Queries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Jones County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, we retain the information needed to answer. We do not share that message outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Automatic Technical Details
Standard technical information may be recorded when a page loads. It can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- Pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring site, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete cookies, though certain features may then work differently.
Purposes for Data Use
- Operate the pages and maintain reasonable performance
- Send a search request to the selected partner service
- Understand which resources visitors use
- Detect and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy Beyond Our Pages
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record portals, government services, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use.
Some advertising providers may track activity across sites to tailor ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems, not as a Jones County release record kept here.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics vendors that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards suited to a public website. No internet-connected service is completely secure, so we cannot promise that data will never be lost, exposed, or accessed without permission.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion where applicable
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where the law provides that right
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as the site or applicable practices change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
